Robert Hugill is a London based composer. Robert's cantata The Testament of Dr. Cranmer was issued on CD in 2007 on the Divine Art record label, in a performance by the eight:fifteen vocal ensemble under their conductor, Paul Brough. His motet, Deus in adjutorium (from the collection Tempus per annum), was given its Italian premiere in August 2008 in Verona by London Concord Singers and conductor Malcolm Cottle. This group also premièred Robert's The Woodward Scale March 2009 and his cantata The Magi in 2010. A number of Robert's orchestra works have been premièred in London by the Salomon Orchestra (under conductor Adrian Brown). Robert's opera Garrett received its first performances in 2001 at Hoxton Hall, and his second opera When a man knows will receive its stage première in March 2011, in a production directed by Ian Caddy. Volume 2 of his collection Tempus per Annum (containing motets for Lent, Eastertide, Pentecost and Trinity Sunday) was issued in October 2008. His songs were placed 3rd in the 2008 A E Housman competition organised by the English Poetry and Song Society.
